Long feed distances are typically bridged using a combination of wire feeder unit of the MIG-MAG welding power source and other additional wire feeder systems. In contrast to conventional, bulky intermediate drive and case solutions, Lorch is creating more mobility for the welding by means of the light weight and easy to handle NanoFeeder. It is extremely compact and robust and increases the action radius up to 50 metres.
The NanoFeeder functions similarly to an intermediate drive, however is more comparable with an extension cable. With a diameter of only 10.5 centimetres, it even passes through narrow openings and the welder benefits due to maximum freedom of movement. A further benefit is that the welder can use his usual MIG-MAG standard torch instead of a heavy and expensive Push-Pull torch. When using the NanoFeeder, the benefits of the innovative Lorch PowerMaster torch technology are also completely utilised. The tedious moving between machine and workpiece to adjust the optimum operating values is not required. Because the PowerMaster technology makes it possible to adjust the welding parameters directly at the torch by remote control.
Depending on the welding process and wire used, the maximum range of the system is up to 50 metres. The NanoFeeder is available for gas and water cooled torches in lengths of 15 or 25 m which are added to the base range of the MIG-MAG torch. A separate wire feeder can be used for larger distances.
The NanoFeeder will be available from January 2011.
